Sarah Young made her Rustic Mechanical stage debut as Ariel in The Tempest last season before returning her more traditional role as the Production Manager for Twelfth Night and The Merchant of Venice.
This year she will remain behind the scenes as production manager for Romeo & Juliet and King Lear, but will return to the stage briefly as Sampson in Romeo & Juliet, Anne Page and the maid Varletta in The Merry Wives of Windsor, and finally as a servant in King Lear.
She is Vintage Theatre’s Company Manager and an English teacher at Lincoln High School. Sarah also teaches Ballroom Dance at InStep Studio is Clarksburg and works as a choreographer for Notre Dame High School’s theatre productions and for the occasional VTC production.
Sarah has a B.A. in Oral Communications and English from Fairmont State University and studied dance from six different instructors across six studios and spanning sixteen years. She has been seen on stage in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Oliver!, Bald Soprano, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat among others. Sarah’s choreography has been seen in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; Peter Pan; HONK! (which won best show at the Harrison County Theatre Awards); All Shook Up; Godspell; The Drowsy Chaperone, and Mary Poppins (which won best show at the Harrison County Theatre Awards) among others.
Sarah is heavily involved with all things Vintage Theatre, including managing most productions, choreographing the youth troupe shows, performing with Comedy for a Cause, and teaching private lessons.
She loves being in West Virginia and is thankful for the opportunity to do everything she loves in her home state.
