Meet Sarah Young

Sarah Young made her Rustic Mechanical stage debut as Ariel in The Tempest in 2016 before returning to her more traditional role as the Production Manager for Twelfth Night, Romeo & Juliet, and King Lear.

Despite her production responsibilities, Sarah also appeared in Romeo & Juliet, and as General in King Lear.

This year she will remain behind the scenes as production manager for Hamlet, but she will return to the stage as Lady Anne in Richard III and Dromio of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors.

She is Vintage Theatre’s Company Manager and an English teacher at Lincoln High School. Sarah also teaches Ballroom Dancing at In Step Dance & Fitness in Anmoore and works as a choreographer for Notre Dame High School’s theatre productions.

Sarah has a B.A. in Oral Communications and English from Fairmont State University and studied dance from six different instructors across six studios and spanning sixteen years. She has been seen on stage in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Oliver!Bald Soprano, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Sarah’s choreography has been seen in You’re a Good Man, Charlie BrownPeter Pan; All Shook UpGodspellThe Drowsy Chaperone; and the  award-winning productions of HONK! and Mary Poppins.

As Company Manager, Sarah is heavily involved with all things Vintage Theatre, including managing most productions, traveling with the Fearless Fools, performing with Comedy for a Cause, and teaching private lessons.

She loves being in West Virginia and is thankful for the opportunity to create theatre in her home state.
