A native of southern West Virginia, Jason has worked as a freelance actor and director all over the state and in neighboring and nearby states as far away as South Carolina. He has been lucky enough to direct over 50 full-scale productions over the last 12 years, and since 2000 his acting résumé boasts over 25 roles as well as several award nominations.
Jason is the president of the West Virginia Theatre Association, a subsidiary of the Southeastern Theatre Conference, and also serves as the group’s State Audition Coordinator. He is a member of the International Thespian Society and the Educational Theatre Association, and in 2014 Jason was named to the West Virginia State Journal’s Generation Next 40 Under 40.
In addition to his work as a theatre artist, Jason also serves as the voice of the Fairmont State University Lady Falcons basketball program and a contributing Arts & Entertainment Blogger for Connect-Bridgeport.com and Connect-Clarksburg.com. He resides in Bridgeport, West Virginia with his wife Sarah Young.
This season Jason will be performing with The Fearless Fools, Comedy for a Cause, and directing Romeo & Juliet and King Lear for The Rustic Mechanicals, as well as playing Falstaff in their annual West Virginia Shakespeare in the Parks Tour of The Merry Wives of Windsor.
