Celi Oliveto holds an MLitt/MFA from Mary Baldwin College and graduated from Fairmont State University with a double major in secondary education and French.
During her MFA year, Celi served as the education director for Rogue Shakespeare. Currently, she works as an English/French teacher and is the director of the thespian troupe 4145 at North Marion High School.
She is the founder of The Rustic Mechanicals and has hand a hand in every Mechanicals production as the associate director. Celi has also appeared with the Mechanicals as Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew, Verges in Much Ado About Nothing, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Antonio in The Tempest, Viola in Twelfth Night, and Salarnia in The Merchant of Venice.
Last season, she commenced her first solo directing project for the Rustic Mechanical’s production of The Merry Wives of Windsor and this season she will be directing Richard III and serving as the acting coach for The Comedy of Errors and Hamlet.
Celi also conceived and coordinated the troupe’s two original works, Toil & Trouble and Timeless Romance.
This season she is playing the role of Benvolia in Romeo & Juliet and is serving as the associate director for the production. She’s also very excited to commencer her first solo directing project this summer for the Rustic Mechanical’s production of The Merry Wives of Windsor.
