Meet Trina Byard

Trina Byard has spent many hours in the theater starting in high school. She began her love of live theatre working on the crew for Washington Irving High School’s production of The Taming of the Shrew.  Trina later went on to major in theater arts at Marshall University, and presently she continues to work with professional, school, and community theater groups.

Some of her favorite roles include Kate Keller in The Miracle Worker, Mrs. Beaver in The Chronicles of Narnia, Norma in Visitor from Forest Hill, and Flora in Tennessee Williams’ 27 Wagons Full of Cotton, which garnered her the Best Actress Award at the 1997 West Virginia State Thespian Festival.

She has been the Production and Costume Designer for several productions including Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, Mr. Popper and his Performing Penguins, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, The Addams Family, and Mary Poppins.

As a director with Bridgeport High School Thespian Troupe 7549, her productions of The Lover’s of Verona and Medea both won first place regional titles and advanced to state level completion where they were honored as the state’s Outstanding One Acts. 

With The Rustic Mechanicals, Trina has served as Production Designer for every production in the troupe’s history. As an actress she has been seen in several productions, including The Taming of the Shrew, Macbeth, The Tempest, The Merchant of Venice, and Romeo & Juliet.

Trina is a West Virginia native who grew up in Clarksburg WV. She currently lives in Bridgeport with her husband David Byard and her two children; a 16 year old daughter Callia, and 15 year old son Zayne. In her free time Trina enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. Her hobbies include painting, crafts, gardening, hiking, and sewing.
