Meet Melissa Ryan

Melissa Ryan is proud to begin her first season with The Rustic Mechanicals.  She will be playing Dromio of Ephesus in this summer’s The Comedy of Errors

Melissa grew up in Maine and West Virginia. Her very first role was Juliet in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet at the age of 14. She has graced the stage as Phoebe in As You Like It and Miranda in The Tempest as well as Charlie Chaplin in a Dancing Elephants original production titled High Spirits performed at M.T. Pockets.

She received her undergraduate degree in theatre from Fairmont State University. Currently, she lives in Morgantown where she owns Entertainment by Miss Pockets, a children’s entertainment venture.  She visits parties as various characters, face paints, clowns and performs comedic magic.  In addition to this venture she is also enrolled at WVU as a graduate student candidate in the Masters of Arts in Art Education program.   Lastly, and most importantly, Melissa is a single momma to the most lovable and funny 5 year old imaginable, Shannon O’Ryan.
