Meet Bridget Rue Esterhuizen

Bridget Rue Esterhuizen, an actor, director and teacher, is an assistant professor of theatre at Davis & Elkins College.

During her time as a company actor with the American Shakespeare Center, Esterhuizen performed more than 36 roles in 20 productions. She was in the Actor’s Renaissance Season of 2015 and completed three national tours between 2011 and 2014.

She also has performed professionally with Chicago theater companies including The House Theater, Chicago Children’s Theater and Victory Gardens Theater, as well as doing commercial work through Lori Linds Ltd. Agency. 

Bridget just directed “Oklahoma! The Musical” at D&E College and is currently co-directing “Hedda Gabler” with her mentor, Jim Warren, Founding Artistic Director of the American Shakespeare Center. 

In this, her first season with The Mechanicals Bridget will be seen at Gertrude in Hamlet. Bridget is VERY excited to work with the Rustic Mechanicals on some Shakespeare!
