Founded in the summer of 2014 by Joshua Stubbs and Sarah Nale, the troupe has, to date, produced an annual opera in conjunction with The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival; debuting with Douglas Moore’s Gallantry, and their most recent production of Gian Carlo Menotti’s The Telephone.

In 2016 the troupe will be offering two touring operas in addition to their WVIHF show; an early  spring production of Test Tube by Milton Granger and a late fall production of Bela Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle.

In addition to presenting opera works Montani Cantanti also provides acapella caroling performances during the Holiday Season. The troupe has caroled at resorts, wineries, restaurants, malls, and private parties.
